This is Nigeria in Africa_ where locals are growing yams using a unique method .
-In Nigeria, Africa Locals are using tools to pile up mounds of soil. You might think they're building something important, but that's not the case. What they're actually doing is planting yams. This method, known as mound cultivation, is quite simple: they use tools to create soil mounds and then plant yams at the top. The yams grow within these mountains, but why not just dig a hole?whole and plant the yams directly in the ground.
According to local farmers, the mound method makes the soil looser, which is especially beneficial for root crops like yams. Loose soil allows the tuber to grow downward more easily, resulting in larger, healthier yams. It also makes harvesting much more convenient. Farmers can simply break apart the mounds to collect the fully grown.
