The investigation commenced in December 2024, prompted by public reports of drug-related activities at a residence located in the 500 block of 52 Avenue S.W. In late February, local residents approached a Calgary Police Service officer who was responding to another incident in the vicinity, voicing their persistent concerns about the negative effects the tenants and visitors of this problematic residence were having on the neighborhood.

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, authorities carried out a search warrant at the residence. During the operation, eleven individuals were removed from the premises, with seven being arrested on various outstanding Criminal Code and bylaw warrants. 📌 Furthermore, Brendan BEAR, aged 33, has been charged with one count of possession with intent to traffic and five counts of failing to comply with a release order.

The search also led to the seizure of drugs and weapons, including:
❌ 41 grams of methamphetamine
❌ 29.4 grams of fentanyl
❌ 64 gabapentin pills
❌ 4 digital scales
❌ Brass knuckles
❌ A spring-loaded baton
❌ 2 imitation firearms
❌ Bear spray
❌ Various types of ammunition
❌ 10 knives of assorted sizes, shapes, and functions

We extend our gratitude to our partners at Alberta Sheriffs Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) and the Fugitive Apprehension Sheriffs Support Team (FASST) for their valuable assistance in this investigation.
