Does the Governor of New South Wales hold any constitutional responsibilities in the Federal Election?

Indeed, according to Section 12 of the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act, the authority to issue a writ for the election of State Senators is assigned to the Governor of each State.

In a special session of the Executive Council held yesterday at Government House, the Governor, acting on the Council's advice, issued a writ for the election of Senators representing New South Wales.

After the election concludes, the completed writ will be submitted back to the Governor, along with a certificate of results for her endorsement.
