They examined the 32.2-kilometer East Wing of the project, where the infrastructure work is approaching completion. This section connects the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to Badeku Village along the Ibadan-Ile Ife Road.

It is noteworthy that Senator Ladoja originally proposed the 110-kilometer Ibadan Circular Road Project during his tenure as governor from 2003 to 2007. Governor Makinde has taken on the responsibility of implementing this significant initiative, which aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the Ibadan metropolis and enhance industrial development in the state.

The governor emphasized that this project will mark the first motorway in Nigeria, stating, "The circular road will be the very first motorway in Nigeria. With the circular road, we are redefining the city limits not only for Ibadan but also for many local governments surrounding it."

The Makinde administration has committed to completing the first phase of the project, which includes the 32.2-kilometer East Wing and the 36.7-kilometer North-East Wing, extending from Badeku Village to Akinyele Local Government.

Accompanying Governor Makinde and Oba Ladoja were Chief Bayo Lawal, Senior Executive Assistant (General Administration) to the governor, along with other distinguished guests.
