RCMP received a notification regarding a single-vehicle rollover incident

On March 28, 2025, at 3:40 PM, officers from the Little Grand Rapids RCMP received a notification regarding a single-vehicle rollover incident on the Fishing Lake winter ice road.

Responding to the scene, the Little Grand Rapids RCMP, in collaboration with Safety Officers from Pauingassi First Nation, were informed that the two individuals in the vehicle, who were not wearing seatbelts, had been taken to the Nursing Station with life-threatening injuries.

Upon their arrival at the Nursing Station, officers discovered that the 43-year-old male passenger had been declared deceased, while the 41-year-old male driver was in critical condition and required air transport to Winnipeg. His condition was later reported to have stabilized.

The investigation is ongoing, with the Little Grand Rapids RCMP receiving support from a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
