Last autumn, Paul Sawyer resigned from Warlord Games, the company behind the Bolt Action game, after receiving a terminal diagnosis. Yesterday ay, we mourn the passing of Paul Sawyer.

I narrowly missed the opportunity to meet him at a Grand Tournament: I was involved in the GW Calgary GT the year prior to his visit to Calgary, which was around 2003 or 2004. At that time, he was known as "Fat Bloke, the Editor" for White Dwarf magazine, a period often regarded as one of the most enchanting for WD.

A friend of mine was part of the group that took the visiting British guests on a day trip to Banff, where Mr. Sawyer was visibly moved by the breathtaking beauty of our Rocky Mountains.
