The emissions strategy proposed by the federal government poses a significant threat to Alberta's economy, employment opportunities, and the financial well-being of families in the province. A recent report from the Conference Board of Canada highlights the potential adverse effects of these policies:

• Economic Contraction: Alberta's GDP may decrease by 11% by the year 2050.
• Job Reductions: Employment levels could fall by 4.1%, resulting in thousands of Albertans losing their jobs.
• Decreased Government Funding: A 9.3% drop in revenues would lead to reduced financial support for vital services.
• Diminished Disposable Income: Each Albertan could see a loss of $3,300, increasing the cost of living for families.

It is imperative for Ottawa to reconsider this strategy. Alberta will not remain passive while our economic stability is jeopardized. We require effective solutions that safeguard both employment and environmental integrity.
