Emergency response teams are actively engaged in efforts to control the wildfire at Table Rock State Park, which has now affected over 1,000 acres. The backburn operation has proven effective throughout the day and will persist into Sunday evening. Residents may observe heightened fire activity during this period due to reduced visibility at night. Firefighters operating fire engines and brush units will remain on-site to oversee the situation and safeguard properties in the vicinity.

Both tractor and hand crews have made significant strides today in establishing fire lines to contain the blaze, utilizing some of the lines created during the Pinnacle Mountain fire in 2016. However, debris left by Hurricane Helene has complicated these efforts.

Limited aerial operations will continue until sunset.

Evacuations are still in place, with no additional evacuations anticipated. Residents are encouraged to stay informed by following local news and social media updates and to be prepared for potential evacuation if necessary.

All trail systems, White Oaks Campground, Lake Oolenoy, Lake Pinnacle, and day-use visitation at Table Rock State Park are closed until further notice.

Heavy traffic on SC Highway 11 has hindered response efforts and created hazardous driving conditions. Additionally, significant smoke along the roadway has further complicated travel. Residents and motorists are advised to avoid the area. As a precautionary measure, the Grant Overlook is currently closed.

Residents are reminded that the statewide burn ban is still in effect until further notice.

Those wishing to assist through donations may deliver items to the Holly Springs Fire Department located at 2239 Moorefield Memorial Highway, Pickens, SC. Needed items include bottled water, snacks (such as fresh fruit), socks, Chapstick, eye drops, bandanas, sinus wash solution, safety glasses, baby wipes, and batteries.

Please note that the county recycling center near Table Rock will be closed on Monday.
