                   EPISODE 3

"I didn't stop loving you my dear, and I never will." King Abalaka said solemnly.

It was true that he didn't stop loving his daughter, it just that he loved himself and his kingdom more.

He couldn't afford to go on exîle. A wàr with the king of Ajala would definitely send him to exîle and he didn't want that.

King Abalaka didn't want to lóse his throne for anything in the world, not even for his own daughter who he claimed to love so much. He was that sèlfish.

"Father, if you love me like you said, why will you even think of this? Ajala kingdom of all places? That's like sending me to hèll!" Princess Ajifa said, fèar written all over her face. Written by Safiya T Idris.

She was someone that had never been scàred of anything all her life because of her father's protection, but the one who had been protecting her all her life was the same person who wanted to send her to a lion's den so she had to be scàred.

"Ogigo mi, you shouldn't doubt my love for you. I love you but we need this alliance to protect our kingdom."

"What! You mean our kingdom is under thrèat and you want to destrôy my life because of that? I am sorry father but I can't be the saviour of Udama! I am not that great!" Princess Ajifa said stèrnly before walking out on her father.

She knew that their kingdom was no longer safe after the kingdom that shared boundaries with theirs got destróyed by the wàrriors of Ajala led by their evîl prince, but she didn't know that her father would think of sacrîficing her to stop the dèstruction of their land.

Was that the love he claimed to have for her?

"You dàre not walk out on me Ajifa. I am not just your father but your king! If you can't respect me as your father, you must respect the crown on my head!" King Abalaka thûndered but that didn't stop his daughter from walking away.

There and then, he decided to handle the matter with îron hands. If his daughter refuse to marry the prince in peace then she should be prepared to marry him in pîeces.

The only thing that would stop the marriage from happening would be the refusal of the king of Ajala and his son!
.
Ajala kingdom...

" Mother please, you know I love princess Ejura. I can't marry the princess of Udama just because I want father to love me like Ayegba his favorite son!" Prince Ameh shóuted.

Prince Ameh was the second son of king Idu and his second wife who he married shortly after the mysterîous disappearance of his first wife who happened to be the mother of prince Ayegba.

King Idu and his second wife also had a daughter called princess Maoneli.

One of queen Igoma's dream came true when king Idu married her, but her second dream refused to come true no matter how hàrd she tried.

Queen Igoma wanted her son to be his father's successor but that would never happen as long as prince Ayegba remained alive.

She had done all she could just to see the gràve of prince Ayegba but all her plans faîld.

Prince Ayegba had eaten poîsóned food and  drinks right from when he was just a child but surprisingly, nothing happened to him. In fact, he grew strónger and strónger until he became indèstructible.

Queen Igoma had sent so many strong wàrriors to attàck the prince many times but the warriors ended up losîng their lives.

Prince Ayegba was a lîon just like his father, and he had tórn his enemîes apart with his bare hands on many occasions.

Apart from the fact that queen Igoma's son would never become king as long as prince Ayegba remained alive, queen Igoma wanted to kîll prince Ayegba because her husband loved him so much.

The king made it so obvious that he loved prince Ayegba more than his other children.

Queen Igoma was looking for what to do to make the king hàte his favorite son when a little bird whispered to her that the prince had rejècted the princess of Udama who his father wanted him to marry at all cost.

Seeing it as a perfect opportunity for the king to love her own son more, queen Igoma tried to convince her son to marry the princess but her son was already in love with another princess.
.
"Ameh please listen to mother. This may be an opportunity for you to get the throne. I heard that father is upsèt with Ayegba, now is the time for you to prove your loyalty to father." Princess Maoneli said to her brother.

They were both in their mother's chamber. Their mother the queen had sent all her maids out of her chamber before they began to talk.

"Your sister is right son. You can win your father's heart by doing this. Winning his heart means winning the throne even if you are not his first son." Queen Igoma said as she stood up from her queen size bed and walked up to her son who was pacing up and down.

She placed her arm around his shoulder and began to manîpulate him. In a few minutes time, prince Ameh didn't know what to think anymore.

"Bu...bu...but I love Ejura." Prince Ameh said in confusion.

"Nobody said you should stop loving Ejura son. You are a prince who will one day become king so you are free to marry as many women as you want, just marry the princess of Udama to secure a place in your father's heart before you marry Ejura." Queen Igoma continued to manîpulate her son.

They didn't even know why the king wanted prince Ayegba to marry the princess of Udama at all cost.
.
"Your majesty. Is everything alright?" One of the king's cabinet members asked the king. They were in a meeting but their king hadn't even said a word since the discussion started.

It was unlike the king who had always wanted only his voice to be heard so someone had to ask.

"You all should leave my palace." The king calmly said but they all knew that it was the calm before the storm so they left one by one without asking any other question to avoid the king's próblem.

King Idu stood up from his throne as soon as everyone left and began to walk up and down in the throne room.

He was àngry. If someone had told him that his son Ayegba would refuse to do what he asked him to do, he wouldn't have believed it.

"I can't believe that my own son who I have shown so much will let such a great opportunity slîp through my fingers." King Idu said to himself.

He had the intention of destróyîng Udama kingdom and his intention still hadn't changed, but his victory would be sweeter if he also get the princess as a prize for the freedom of Udama.

He would make king Abalaka think that his kingdom had been saved after the wedding before he strîke like thûnder.

The only problem the king had was that his dear son refused to be part of his plan this time.

The king was worried because his son didn't only rèject the princess of Udama, he also told him that he would never get married or have anything to do with any woman.

Prince Ayegba was his heir, what would happen to the throne if he remain unmarried all his life?

The kingship would be handed over to another family.

"No! I have to do something about this. Ayegba must get married whether he likes it or not. He won't only marry the princess of Udama, He will marry another maiden who will be worthy to give us an heir." King Idu thought out loud.

"Hey, go and get me my son Ayegba." King Idu commanded one of his guard and the guard left immediately. Written by Safiya T Idris

Just then, prince Ameh walked into the throne room. He had something important to tell his father and he was so sure that his father would like to hear it.
