Charges have been brought against a man from Calgary who reportedly used a job interview to propose to a 15-year-old girl for sex in exchange for cash, presents, and marriage. According to the police, in June 2024, the child and her family went to the Pilav Central restaurant, which is situated at 8330 Macleod Tr. S.E., where they were greeted by a man who claimed to be the proprietor. The man handed the girl his contact information and offered her a job interview at the restaurant.
The two decided to meet at Chinook Mall on July 9 to do the interview after exchanging texts. According to the police, the man asked her private questions about her relationship status during the interview as well as past sexual activity. The girl tried to reroute the inquiry since she was uncomfortable. According to authorities, the male then allegedly offered her $8,000 in return for sexual services. He also allegedly promised to marry her when she reached eighteen, promising to provide her with financial assistance and other advantages.
"He gave her the code phrase'ready for a second interview' at the end of the meeting to use if she wanted to accept the offer," investigators added. The girl "promptly" reported the incident to the police. Ruslan Reuven Pinkhasov, 48, has been charged with one count of acquiring sexual services from a person under the age of eighteen for consideration following an investigation. His court appearance is set for March 19.
