🌍✨ **Obatala: The Sculptor of Mankind** ✨🌍

In the Yoruba religion, Obatala is an orisha with a fascinating story. Initially tasked with creating the Earth, he fell short due to being drunk on palm wine, allowing his younger brother Oduduwa to complete the task instead. Olodumare, their father, then appointed Obatala the role of creating human beings, earning him the title "Sculptor of Mankind."

"Olodumare once called on Obatala and asked him to assist in creating human beings for the world he was about to create. He wanted the world to be inhabited by humans."

With the help of Osun, Obatala used water and clay to shape humans. However, his work was marred by his intoxication, leading to the creation of people with disabilities. Upon realizing his mistake, Obatala vowed never to drink again and transformed into "The Great White God," becoming the protector of those with disabilities. This reinvention elevated his status over humanity.

In the oral traditions of Ife, the mortal Obatala is also remembered as the founder and king of Ife during its classical period. Though his leadership was briefly challenged by Oduduwa, Obatala ultimately triumphed, reclaiming his throne.
