Speculation is rife after she scrapped a planned visit to California.
While the CR bill is tied up in Congress, when it arrives at the Senate, her vote could be crucial.
As the Vice President, she has the constitutional authority to break ties in the Senate. 
According to Article I, Section 3, Clause 4 of the U.S. Constitution, the Vice President serves as the President of the Senate and can cast a vote when there is a tie. 
If the bill fails to pass, government funding is set to expire at midnight Friday.
