Seven tourists in Fiji have been  hospitalised with suspected alcohol poisoning and are  believed to be in a critical  condition.
They are said to have been drinking cocktails at a  tourist bar on Saturday night local time and shortly  after experienced nausea, vomiting and neurological  symptoms.
Four of the seven  tourists are Australian,  aged between 18  and 56, local media  reported, citing the  Ministry of Health.
The incident comes weeks after six tourists  died in the  Southeast Asian  country of Laos  from suspected methanol  poisoning.
The tourists in Fiji, who were  apparently staying at a Coral  Coast resort, were initially taken to Sigatoka  Hospital. All were later transferred to Lautoka Hospital, according to the Fiji  Times.
Two Australian families in Fiji are receiving consular assistance,  a spokesman for the Australian  Department of Foreign Affairs told the BBC.
