Ekong and Lookman have been nominated for FIFA honours.

Super Eagles duo Ademola Lookman and Troost Ekong have been shortlisted for the  2024 FIFA Best  Striker and  Best Defender titles by the  world government.

The former Fulham  striker is currently ranked 14th in the  Ballon d'Or 2024  rankings and leads the  field for the CAF African Footballer of the Year award.  In addition, the 27-year-old striker is in contention for the Serie A Player of the  Year award.
Lookman's Super Eagles  teammate William  Ekong was also nominated in the  defenders category. The former Udinese  central defender is also on the shortlist for the 2024 CAF Player of the  Year. Ekong was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of  AFCON 2023. This week, Ademola Lookman  was also nominated for the Serie A Player of the Month for  November after his impressive  performance against Tunisia.
