After the owner of dozens of animals from a northern Alberta property passed away, a Calgary animal rescue group is requesting assistance from the public.

According to R.J. Bailot, executive director and co-founder of the Canadian Animal Task Force (CATF), a family member called his group on Monday to request assistance in caring for the numerous animals that reside on their loved one's land.

According to Bailot, the family was aware that their relative had a large number of animals, but they were unsure of the precise number.
