Exposure to light may be killing you sooner than you think.

According to some alarming research, you could be wasting years of your life if you are exposed to light at night but not during the day.

Bright nights raise the risk of dying young by up to 34%, according to research done on 90,000 people over the course of eight years. Those who were exposed to natural sunshine, however, were at a 34% lower risk.

The worst? Light exposure between 2:30 to 3am throws off your body's cycles, increasing your chances of diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer.

In summary, spend your evenings as dark as you can and spend your days outside.
