Allah will honour and lavishly reward anybody who memorizes the Quran and follows its teachings. In Paradise, his standing will increase to match the knowledge of the Quran he has committed to memory.

Glory to Allah.

Allah will honour and highly praise anybody who memorizes the Quran and follows its teachings, elevating their rank in Paradise to a degree appropriate to the knowledge they have retained from Allah's Book.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reported to At-Tirmidhi (2914) and Abu Dawud (1464) what 'Abdullah ibn {Amr had said: "It will be stated to the companion of the Quran: Recite and advance in status, recite as you used to recite in the globe, since the final verse you repeat will determine your rank. Al-Albani declared this hadith to be genuine in As-Silsilah As-Sahihah, 5/218, no. 2240. He then said:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stated, "The one who knows more Quran should lead the people in prayer," indicating the one who has memorized the most. It is important to note that this person is referred to as a "companion of the Quran," meaning the person who knows the entire text by heart. Rather than how much someone recites on that day, as some people believe, the distinction in status in Paradise will be based on how much was memorized in this life. This demonstrates unequivocally the virtue of the Hafdh who has committed the

Rather than how much someone recites on that day, as some people believe, the distinction in status in Paradise will be based on how much was memorized in this life. This demonstrates unequivocally the Quran, however that is contingent upon his memorizing it for Allah's benefit rather than his own financial gain or worldly gain. If not, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) declared, "Those who have memorized the Quran are among the majority of the hypocrites of my Ummah."

A'ishah related to Al-Bukhari (4937) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The likeness of the one who reads Quran and memorises it is that he is with the righteous honourable scribes." This is in reference to the virtue of the Hafidh who memorises the Quran. The person who reads it and makes a concerted effort to commit it to memory, despite the challenges he faces, will have two of the Hafdh who has committed the rewards.

It is simple for the Hafidh who has committed the Quran to memory to pray Qiyam Al-Layl. Because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stated that "fasting and the Quran will intercede for a person on the Day of Resurrection," the Quran will also act as an advocate for him on that day. A person on a fast will say, "O Lord, let me intercede for him; I deprived him of food and desires during the day." "O Lord, I deprived him of his sleep at night; let me intercede for him," the Quran would say. After that, they will both speak up for him. (Sahih Al-Jami, no. 3882; narrated by Ahmad, At-Tabarani, and Al-Hakim; deemed authentic by Al-Albani)

Here, it should be mentioned that there isis a flimsy Hadith that is used when discussing the merits of learning the Quran by heart. According to this Hadith, "On the Day of Resurrection, the bearer of the Quran will intercede for ten of his family members, who all deserved to go to Hell, if he regards what it permits as permissible and what it forbids as forbidden." (Told by Al-Bayhaqi in Jabir's Shu`ab Al-Iman (The Branches of Faith); Al-Albani deemed it untrue in Da{ief Al-Jami})

Allah is the most knowledgeable.
