It was a snowy day in Toronto, and many vehicles were immobilized in the snow. We could not simply pass by a stranded car without offering assistance.

I appreciated that another passerby noticed our efforts and joined in to help. Unfortunately, I lost my wallet during this endeavor, but I believe there are far worse consequences that can arise from performing good deeds.

Interestingly, several individuals questioned our motivation for going out of our way to assist, suggesting that helping vehicles out of the snow is not a police responsibility, that it wastes police resources, and that it falls outside our official duties. While there is some truth to their arguments, I became a police officer to assist others in any capacity possible. If that entails stepping out of the warmth, then so be it.
