Heather Brent, 57, has been named as the victim, according to court records. Police arrived at the southbound lanes of Stoney Trail near the Nose Hill Drive bridge around 11:50 p.m. Brent was driving a white Toyota Corolla south when her vehicle was struck by an unidentified vehicle, believed to be a semi-truck with a trailer, which then fled the scene. Two individuals in a road maintenance truck were the first to respond, offering medical assistance to Brent. Shortly thereafter, a black Dodge Ram, operated by a 21-year-old man with a 21-year-old female passenger, crashed into a median barrier and collided with Brent's vehicle. The Ram subsequently collided with the road maintenance truck. Brent was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

"The Uniting Bond Who Held Her Family Close": Brent, a resident of Calgary, is remembered as a loving and compassionate person who deeply cared for those around her. Her obituary describes her as "the uniting bond who held her family close." "Though often shy, she was fiercely resolute when pursuing her goals, and her infectious laughter will be cherished by all who knew her," the obituary notes. Brent earned her RN degree from Mount Royal University and dedicated her career to caring for the elderly, working in long-term care facilities in Didsbury and Hanna.

Her family expressed gratitude in the obituary to the road maintenance workers and first responders for their assistance. Hit-and-Run Suspect Charged: Following their investigation, police located a semi-truck in Rocky View County identified as the vehicle that left the scene. Consequently, Gaganpreet Singh, 25, was charged with hit-and-run and hit-and-run causing death. Singh, a Saskatoon resident, appeared virtually in court on Friday, where his case was adjourned until April 8.
