President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sanctioned a new wave of appointments to reinforce the leadership of River Basin Development Authorities within the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, along with various other federal organizations.

In a statement issued on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, it was highlighted that these appointments aim to enhance governance, water management, and rural development throughout Nigeria.

At the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority in Abeokuta, Sowade Oluwakayode Adebayo has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Engineering Services, taking over from Engr. Julius Oloro. Likewise, Chucks Erhire will replace Dr. Austin Nonyelim Izagbo as the Executive Director of Engineering Services at the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority. For the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority, President Tinubu has appointed Sunday Kubba Hassan as the new Executive Director of Planning, succeeding Chief Chris Tarka, while Engr. Okibe Timothy continues as the Executive Director of Engineering. The President has urged these new leaders to maintain integrity and focus on advancing water management and rural development to benefit all Nigerians. Additionally, President Tinubu has appointed Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the Chairman of the Board for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Hon. Fatuhu Mohammed Buhari from Katsina State has also been named as the Director-General of the National Agricultural Seed Council. The President has approved the appointments of several APC state chairmen and political figures as chairpersons of various federal institutions.

 – Board Chairman, Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute, Ilorin. - Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas (Kano State APC Chairman) – Board Chairman, Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service.

- Dr. Austian Agada (Benue State APC Chairman) – Board Chairman, National Agricultural Seed Council. - Hon. Macdonald Ebere (Imo State APC Chairman) – Board Chairman, Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Lagos. - Ubong Stephen Ntukekpo (Akwa Ibom State APC Chairman) – Board Chairman, National Institute for Freshwater Fish, New Bussa. - Chief Emma Eneukwu (APC Deputy Chairman, South) – Board Chairman, National Automotive Development Council. - Aminu Musa Bobi (Niger State APC Chairman) – Board Chairman, National Library of Nigeria. - Pharm. Abass Olayide (Oyo State APC Chairman) – Board Chairman, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Kaduna. - Hon. Donatus Nwankpa (APC National Working Committee Member, Abia State) – Board Chairman, Project Development Institute (PRODA). - Comrade Mustapha Salihu (Adamawa State APC Chairman)

– Board Chairman, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

- Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu (Abia State APC Chairman) – Board Chairman, National Parks Headquarters. These appointments, which span critical sectors such as agriculture, health, environment, education, and media, are anticipated to improve governance and enhance service delivery within these agencies.
