At a nearby hospital, some of the injured were in critical condition. 

Two South Koreans and two Chinese nationals were among the dead, according to officials. Additionally, one of the injured employees is Chinese. About 65 kilometres (40 miles) south of Anseong is the bridge of Seoul, the nation's capital, was still under construction when the 50-meter-long beams supporting it collapsed. Hyundai apologizes for the collapse of the bridge. 
During a televised press conference, Ko Kyung-man, the local fire official, stated that the builders "were working to install a deck on the bridge." "All of the 10 were up on the deck... and fell from both sides when it collapsed," he stated. According to authorities, it was not immediately possible to identify the incident's cause. "We sincerely bow our heads in apology to those who lost their precious lives and were injured in the accident at our construction site," said a statement released by Hyundai Engineering, the project's primary contractor. We are working closely with the appropriate authorities to guarantee a speedy on-site resolution."

The relevant agencies were instructed by Acting President Choi Sang-mok to send all of their staff and equipment to the collapse site. Later, the Transport Ministry said that it had sent a number of authorities to the area, while the National Fire Agency reported that it had deployed 150 emergency personnel. The Labour Ministry of South Korea reports that at least 8,000 persons lost their lives in work-related incidents between 2020 and 2023. In 2022, legislation was passed in an attempt to alleviate the widespread safety concerns, but deaths have continued. Six workers lost their lives on a hotel construction site in the seaside city of Busan earlier in February.
