Okotoks model crowned Miss Teenage Canada

  An Okotoks  teenager  took home a  nationally  coveted  title.
 
  Seventeen-year-old Arianna Ramsay was crowned Miss Teenage Canada 2024  at  the  beauty  pageant's  national  final  competition  in  Toronto  on July  14. 
 
  "I  have  a  huge  passion  for  modeling  and  beauty  pageants,"  said Ramsay, who last competed in the Miss Teenage Canada  pageant  in 2021 before winning this  year's  banner.  With the  degree,  I  can  travel  all  over  the  country  and  represent  and really  express  my  passions. 
 
  Defending  rights  plays  an  important  role in  Ramsay's  life.
 
 
  "Last  year I  founded  H.E.R.O Canada,"  he  said. "It's  my online platform that I created on Instagram to  raise  awareness about the effects of bullying, what it really means to be a  bully  and  the  impact  bullying  can  have  on  your mental health and how it  affects  your  lifestyle."  "
 
  Ramsay, who  considers  herself a proud lifelong Okotokian, feels a deep connection to her community:  She  graduated this year from Holy Trinity Academy, where she was an  honors  student, and her mother, Norayda Ramsay, is president of the  Filipino-Canadian  Society  of  the  Okotoks.
 
 
  "I  also represent the culture that my  mother  blessed me  with,  and  I'm  very fortunate to have that in my  life,"  said Ramsay, who is  half  Filipino.
 
  "As  a  bi-ethnic  Canadian,  I've  struggled with bullying my entire  life,"  he  said.  She  said,  "And  through the love and support  of  my family, friends and community, especially the  beauty  pageant  community,  I've  been  able to discover my own kind of  beauty." 
 
 
  Ramsay  hopes  to  continue  her  career  as a model and  compete  in more  beauty  pageants  "I'm  so  excited to  announce  that  I'll  be  returning  to New York in September for New York Fashion  Week,"  he  said.  he  said. 
 
  "Beauty  pageants  are  an  ongoing  thing, and I  love being  in the community and I love  volunteering  my time  and  paving  the way for a  better  future."
