The Brutalist is the movie to beat  at the  Oscars and that Demi Moore could  win Best Actress. BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — The  nominations for the 97th Academy Awards have been  announced.
Topping the  list is Jacques Audiard's  Spanish-language film Emilia Pérez, with 13 nominations, including best picture and best actress for Karla Sofía Gascón, making  it the first  to win a best picture that was openly nominated for an  Oscar.
The nominations  were originally  scheduled for Jan.  1. 17. But after wildfires on Jan. 7 began burning through parts of Los Angeles, leaving behind mass destruction, the academy extended its voting window and twice postponed the nominations  announcement.
