German President Steinmeier Arrives  in Nigeria  for State Visit, Accompanied by Business  Delegation.

German President Frank-Walter  Steinmeier has arrived in Nigeria to begin a three-day official  visit.
The German President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe  Airport in Abuja on Tuesday  evening where he was  received by  the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory  (FCT), Nyesom  Wike.
President Steinmeier's visit  is aimed at highlighting the strength of Nigeria-Germany relations and  marking Germany's appreciation  for Nigeria.
During his visit,  Steinmeier is  scheduled to meet with President Bola Tinubu, as well as the  Chairman of the  Economic Commission  for West African States (ECOWAS), Dr. Alieu Omar  Touray.
He will then  travel to Lagos, where he will  hold talks with business representatives, visit a  startup hub and meet members of Nigeria's  cultural and civil  society sectors. A statement  from the German embassy in Nigeria said: "Following the visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Nigeria in October 2023 and the visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,  H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to Germany in November 2023, President Steinmeier's visit is the third exchange between  the two countries  at the level of head of state or government since President Tinubu's  inauguration.
"This high frequency of visits  demonstrates the close relations between  the two countries and  Germany's serious interest in Nigeria. It also  demonstrates the willingness to work together as strategic partners – an obvious fit,  given that the two countries share commonalities, including being the strongest  economies and most populous  countries on their respective  continents. »

The German  president will  also meet with Dr. Nike Okundaye, popularly known as Mama Nike, of the Nike Art Gallery,  as well as legendary author and Nobel  Prize winner for Literature,  Professor Wole Soyinka, among other  notable Nigerian  figures.
