HOW  MANY MEN OF THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE  SAVED 23 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN KATSINA AND AKWA-IBOM STATES
The Nigeria Police Force says  its brave men operating in KATSINA and AKWA Ibom states have rescued 23  kidnapping victims,  namely 20 in Katsina and three in AKWA  states.

ABUJA gives details as follows. These notable achievements include the rescue of 20 victims  during 2  major kidnapping attempts in Katsina State.  On December 7, 2024, at about  7:00 p.m., police operatives  from the Katsina State Command  arrested a group of armed bandits along the Katsina-Magamar Jibia road, who had opened fire on a moving vehicle  with 10  persons, with the intention of abducting the occupants. The police  personnel engaged  in a gun battle with the armed bandits and successfully overpowered them, forcing the bandits to flee the scene with varying degrees of gunshot  wounds and  ensuring the  safety of 10  passengers unharmed. On the same  day, at about 8:30  p.m., police operatives attached to the Katsina State Command  received information  about an ambush  by suspected bandits on a vehicle  carrying 10 passengers  on the Funtua-Gusau road and quickly mobilized to the scene  and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun  battle, defeating them and rescuing the 10 abducted  victims.
Similarly, on December  4, 2024, police operatives attached to the Akwa-Ibom State Command successfully rescued a young  woman who had been  abducted earlier by one Abraham Patrick Francis with the intention of selling the  victim for forced prostitution  purposes in a  nearby village. . The suspect  has since been  arrested and the victim  has been reunited with her family.  On December 5, 2024, police operatives of the Akwa-Ibom State Command raided a kidnappers' den  in Amayam and Ikot Ukpong  villages and  managed to rescue two kidnapping victims  unharmed, recover a locally made  double-barreled pistol,  a domestic pistol. 5 live  rounds and  neutralize two suspected kidnappers  during a heated  gunfight.
