Police operatives in Yobe have arr3sted a 22-year-old housewife, Zainab Isa, for all3gedly st@bbing her husband to de@th in the state capital, Damaturu.

The spokesman for the state police command, Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday.

He reported that the susp3ct st@bbed her husband, Ibrahim Yahaya, 25, with a kn!fe following an argument at Abbari ward.

"The command is s@ddened by the unfortunate actions of a couple that led to the de@th of a promising young man due to the consequences of an abu.s!ve marriage.

"On June 26, 2024, at about 10:00 am, the C Divisional Police Headquarters received a complaint from a neighb0ur about the couple. The argum3nt, which began around 9:00 am, esc@lated into a phys.!cal alterc@tion. Zainab Isa used a kn!fe to st@b her husband in the chest. He d!.ed from the in.jury before the police arrived.," Abdulkarim stated.

According to a preliminary invest!gation, the susp3ct confe$sed that she did not intend to k.!ll her husband.

She claimed to have acted in self-de.fence during a be@t!ng and kick!ng inc!dent while she was still recovering from a recent med!cal operation following childbirth.
