Severe thunderstorms and showers  throughout  the mid-Atlantic and the Northeast  precipitated  lethal  flash flooding  withinside the  tristate area,  in which  roads  have been  was  rivers,  automobiles  have been  submerged in fast-  growing  waters, and water rescues  opened up  on Long Island and in Connecticut.

Heavy rain pounded New York, Connecticut and New Jersey overnight. Two locations — Suffolk County, New York, and  elements  of Fairfield and New Haven counties in Connecticut —  skilled  anciental  rain,  accomplishing  the brink  of 1,000-  12 months  rainfall event.
