The situation began with the sighting of a stolen U-Haul truck being driven recklessly in Southwood, prompting police to initiate a traffic stop on Anderson Road near 14 Street S.W. However, the driver evaded capture, accelerating away at high speeds, running red lights, and veering into oncoming traffic on 210 Avenue S.W. Despite police efforts to disable the vehicle by puncturing two tires in the Legacy area, the driver persisted in reckless driving, again entering oncoming lanes near Shawnessy Boulevard S.W.

The pursuit culminated at a residence in the 11000 block of Sacramento Drive S.W., where the driver collided with three police vehicles and several parked cars before finally halting in the 14000 block of Macleod Trail S.W. Following the chase, the driver was apprehended outside Fish Creek Station, during which police cruisers sustained damage. Roads in the vicinity were closed for several hours to facilitate an investigation but have since been reopened.
