The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Grand Falls-Windsor have lifted the alert ready notification as of 10:20 PM on Friday, indicating that residents are no longer required to remain indoors.

This advisory was initially issued earlier that evening due to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of Lincoln Road, Scott Avenue, Goodyear Avenue, and Riverview Road. Authorities believe the incident was targeted, which led to a substantial police response and a public advisory urging residents to stay inside.

Although the immediate danger has subsided, there will be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation is ongoing.

Residents are encouraged to stay alert and report any suspicious behavior to law enforcement.
