RCMP Grants Wish to Young Aspirant

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have fulfilled the dream of a young girl who aspires to be a police officer. This was announced during the presentation of a cheque to Make-A-Wish Canada earlier this week.

The amount of $30,000 was collected through the Mounties' annual Wish Tree Campaign held during the holiday season, with the cheque being presented on Tuesday.

When five-year-old Alexa arrived at the RCMP headquarters, she believed she was merely going to tour the facility. However, she received far more than she anticipated.

With a large sign in the window proclaiming "RCMP Hearts Alexa," she learned that, in addition to her tour, she was being appointed as an honorary RCMP officer for the day. To top it off, her wish for a trip to her favorite theme park had been granted.

As part of her honorary responsibilities, Alexa donned a special Red Serge uniform, met members of the Emergency Response Team—who made a dramatic entrance by rappelling down the building—interacted with a potential police dog named Tremor, enjoyed a visit from Chase, a character from her favorite television show Paw Patrol, and received various RCMP merchandise.
