Man wins $40 million  Canadian lottery  jackpot, buys pizza  for co-workers, says goodbye
A  Quebecer who won half of  last week's $80 million Lotto Max jackpot bought his  co-workers pizza and said  goodbye.

Loto-Québec said in a news release that  Jean Lamontagne, a 60-year-old  Montrealer, held one of two winning tickets  in the Dec. 3  drawing that allowed him to win $40  million.
The other ticket was sold in  Alberta.
Lamontagne was at work when he decided to check his tickets and discovered his  grand prize. "He initially shared the news with his  employers, specifying that  he would take advantage of  this windfall to retire earlier than  expected," the  press release  says.
"Being very close to his colleagues,  Mr. Lamontagne returned to his workplace a few days later to  offer them a pizza lunch and say  goodbye."

Mr. Lamontagne plans to invest  some of the money in real estate and  buy multiplexes for his children, brother and  in-laws.
He also  plans to  go to Europe for a  long trip.
"We are always  pleased to award a  first prize, but  it is even more  comfortable to do  it just before the holidays,"  said Loto-Québec  President and CEO Jean-François  Bergeron.
