The tallest tower in the world is already located amid Dubai's enormous skyline. It will soon welcome the second-tallest person in the world as well.

While its developer awaiting approval from Dubai authorities, particularly the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), which is engaged in planning for "supertall" buildings, the Burj Azizi's exact height was not revealed when construction first began in January of this year.


But on Wednesday, the real estate company Azizi Developments revealed that its skyscraper, which would be an incredible 725 meters (2,379 feet) tall, will soar over all but one of the nearby sites.

"We had plans for two designs from the beginning: one for the taller, now-allowed 725 meters, and another for the originally approved height of 526 meters." Aziz Mirwais, the creator and chairman of Azizi Developments, according to a statement provided to CNN.
