Saskatchewan's Sikh community plays a vital role in our province, demonstrating remarkable generosity through various forms of contribution.

Vaisakhi embodies themes of support, strength, and resilience. I was privileged to participate in the celebrations held in Regina and Saskatoon this past weekend.

Here is an excerpt from the message I shared with the Sikh community:

This week, you faced acts of hatred. Many among you have voiced feelings of pain and distress due to remarks made by an elected official in the Saskatchewan legislature.

This behavior is unacceptable. Hate has no place in Saskatchewan.

Not now, nor ever. It is essential to confront hate for what it is, and those who perpetuate it must be held accountable.

I am proud to stand with you against such hatred.

The Saskatchewan NDP stands in solidarity with you today and every day, advocating for a Saskatchewan that embraces our diversity, fosters cultural understanding, and strengthens our community together.
