Morgan Stanley is sounding the alarm as oil prices experienced a significant drop last week, describing the situation as "rarely seen outside of recessions." Brent crude fell by more than 12.5% in just two days—a rare occurrence that has only happened 24 times since 1988, with 22 of those instances linked to economic downturns. Analyst Martijn Rats notes that the only exceptions were during the Iraq situation in 2003 and the market correction after the peak in 2022. However, this current situation does not fall into either of those categories.
