A young student from Moscow has emerged victorious in the World Chess Championship held in Serbia.

Twelve-year-old Matfey Yurasov claimed the gold medal in the under-13 division. He is also a distinguished multiple champion and awardee in both the Russian and Moscow chess championships.

The tournament saw participation from 462 chess players representing 43 different countries.
