Last post by admin - 2025-04-02 20:04🔵 ONGOING INVESTIGATION 🔵
Our Traffic Unit is actively investigating a multi-vehicle accident that took place late yesterday on Stoney Trail N.W., which resulted in the tragic death of a 57-year-old woman.
📍 At approximately 11:49 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, we responded to a collision in the southbound lanes of Stoney Trail N.W., near the bridge deck of Nose Hill Drive N.W.
At that moment, a white 2019 Toyota Corolla, operated by a woman in her 50s, was traveling southbound in one of the lanes adjacent to the median.
It is believed that the Corolla was struck by an unidentified vehicle, which preliminary evidence suggests may be a semi-truck and trailer combination.
This unidentified vehicle did not remain at the scene.

Shortly thereafter, a roadway maintenance truck with two occupants arrived first and began administering medical assistance to the woman.
A short time later, a black 2018 RAM truck, driven by a 21-year-old man with a 21-year-old passenger, collided with a post and cable barrier in the median, subsequently hitting the woman. The RAM truck then collided with the rear of the roadway maintenance vehicle.
The woman was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The other drivers and passengers involved in the incident did not sustain any injuries.
Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that speed, alcohol, or drugs played a role in this collision.

Last post by admin - 2025-04-02 18:15Supply management is an integral aspect of our economic sovereignty. In discussions with President Trump, it is not a subject of negotiation.
Our farmers, ranchers, and agribusiness workers are the backbone of our economy and sovereignty. Together with Mark Carney, we defend supply management, invest in local change, and reduce paper waste. A clear commitment: protect our agricultural sector and build a stronger Canada.

Politics / P.Smith:Canada needs to adjust...
Last post by admin - 2025-04-02 18:04Undoubtedly, Canada needs to adjust its economy to safeguard our national interests, beginning with the enhancement of interprovincial trade and the development of energy and resource corridors that unite us rather than divide us.
A notable illustration can be found in Manitoba. 👇

Last post by admin - 2025-04-02 17:52Pierre Poilievre appears to be 'studying' tariffs, yet he seems ill-equipped to handle the challenges posed by Trump. In contrast, Carney clearly has a strategy in place and possesses the educational credentials to support it. It is concerning that individuals would choose to vote for the Conservative Party. He need to travel out .

Last post by admin - 2025-04-02 15:49Today, we had the honor of welcoming 39 indigenous individuals from Oyo State, who are Cadet ASPs, for a courtesy visit. They were accompanied by the newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Oyo State, Johnson Oluwole Adenola. These recruits are scheduled to participate in their passing-out parade later this year at the Police Academy in Kano.
This visit provided me with another opportunity to convey my appreciation to the Nigeria Police and other security agencies for their relentless efforts in ensuring the safety of Oyo State. I also urged the new recruits to represent Oyo State with pride and to perform their responsibilities with diligence.

Health / Man charged with 64 offences i...
Last post by Dev Sunday - 2025-04-02 12:55The delicate interplay between immigration policies and individual health conditions often results in heart-wrenching scenarios where couples face the threat of deportation, their lives hanging in a precarious balance. The core issue revolves around the stringent health requirements embedded within many nations' immigration frameworks, designed to safeguard public health and mitigate potential burdens on healthcare systems. This seemingly pragmatic approach, however, frequently clashes with the deeply personal realities of those affected. The "public burden" clause, a common feature in immigration regulations, becomes a looming threat for individuals diagnosed with conditions requiring ongoing, costly medical care. This clause, intended to protect the nation's resources, can inadvertently lead to the expulsion of individuals who have established lives, families, and careers within their adopted countries. The disparity in health requirements across different nations further complicates matters, creating a landscape where outcomes are determined by arbitrary borders rather than individual circumstances. The human cost of these policies is immeasurable. Beyond the legal ramifications, couples facing deportation endure immense emotional turmoil, grappling with the prospect of being torn from their homes, support networks, and the lives they have painstakingly built. Recent cases highlight recurring themes: long-term residency, unexpected diagnoses, and impassioned pleas for compassion. Individuals who have contributed to their communities for years find their lives upended by unforeseen health challenges. The sudden diagnosis of a chronic illness can trigger deportation proceedings, shattering their sense of security and belonging. Affected couples often appeal to authorities, emphasizing their contributions to society and the devastating impact of forced relocation. Public outcry frequently accompanies these cases, reflecting a collective sense of injustice and a desire for more humane immigration practices. The ethical and legal considerations are complex, demanding a delicate balance between public health concerns and fundamental human rights. Governments are tasked with safeguarding their populations while upholding principles of compassion and fairness. The discretionary power vested in immigration authorities becomes a focal point, raising questions about the criteria used to determine who is deemed worthy of remaining. Advocates for reform argue for a more nuanced approach, one that recognizes the individual circumstances and contributions of those facing deportation. The need for a system that prioritizes human dignity and compassion over rigid adherence to bureaucratic rules is evident. These stories serve as a poignant reminder that immigration policies must reflect the complexities of human lives and the inherent value of compassion.

Crime and war / Man Charged with 64 Offences i...
Last post by Dev Sunday - 2025-04-02 12:49A deeply disturbing investigation into the operations of Legacy Independent Funeral Directors in Hull, East Yorkshire, has culminated in the charging of a 47-year-old man with a staggering 64 offenses. The case, which has shocked communities and raised profound ethical questions, centers on the alleged mishandling of deceased individuals and fraudulent activities related to funeral services.
The investigation, conducted by Humberside Police, began in March 2024 following reports of "concern for care of the deceased" at the funeral home's multiple premises. The subsequent police work has been described as "complex, protracted, and highly sensitive," reflecting the gravity of the allegations and the emotional weight of the situation.
The charges brought against Robert Bush encompass a wide range of criminal activity, revealing a pattern of alleged disregard for both the deceased and their grieving families. Among the most serious charges are 30 counts of preventing a lawful and decent burial. This suggests a systemic failure to provide the respectful and dignified treatment that is expected in the handling of human remains.
Adding to the distress of the situation are 30 counts of fraud by false representation, indicating that families were allegedly deceived about the services they were paying for. Furthermore, the charges include one count of fraudulent trading relating to funeral plans, affecting a reported 172 victims, and one count of fraud in relation to human ashes, affecting 50 victims. These allegations suggest a prolonged period of deceptive practices that have deeply impacted numerous individuals and families.
Adding to the depth of the betrayal, the man has also been charged with two counts of theft from charities. This element of the case adds a layer of extreme violation, as it speaks to the alleged exploitation of funds intended for charitable causes.
The discovery of 35 bodies and suspected human ashes at the funeral home's premises underscored the severity of the situation and the urgent need for a thorough investigation. The impact on the families of the deceased is immeasurable, as they grapple with the realization that their loved ones may not have been treated with the respect and dignity they deserved.
Humberside Police have emphasized their commitment to supporting the affected families and providing them with updates throughout the legal process. The investigation has involved a significant amount of police and civilian staff, highlighting the complexity and sensitivity of the case.
The man charged is due to appear at Hull Magistrates' Court on June 25th. As the legal proceedings unfold, the community will be left to reconcile with the deeply unsettling revelations and the profound breach of trust that has occurred. The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of ethical conduct and accountability in the handling of the deceased.
