During her visit to Townsville, the Governor-General engaged with SES volunteers, members of the Queensland Police, Fire and Ambulance services, Red Cross representatives, healthcare professionals, defence personnel, councillors, and council staff who have provided support to the community amid the recent extraordinary weather challenges.

In various coordination centres, navigating through floodwaters, and responding to requests for help, these individuals collaborated to assist those in need and worked diligently to ensure the safety of the community.
