Two RCMP officers in Alberta face charges of dangerous driving, according to the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT).

ASIRT is responsible for investigating police conduct following serious incidents in Alberta.

The charges come more than five years after the alleged incident. On March 5, 2020, ASIRT was tasked with looking into claims of "possible dangerous driving" by on-duty officers from the Parkland County RCMP, which reportedly occurred on February 25, 2020. However, ASIRT has not disclosed specific details regarding the circumstances or location of the officers' driving.

ASIRT stated that the evidence collected provided reasonable grounds to believe that an offense had occurred. Consequently, the investigation was submitted to the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service to assess whether the evidence warranted prosecution, which it did.

Michael Ewenson, the executive director of ASIRT, concluded that the officers involved should face charges.

On April 7, 2025, Constable Debra-Ann Wash and Constable Dorian Tooze were charged with operating a vehicle in a manner that posed a danger to the public. They have been released and are set to appear in court in Stony Plain on May 21.
