The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ogun State has denied any involvement in the death of a student, Pelumi David Idowu.

- The NYSC coordinator, Olayinka Nasamu, urged the public to disregard the "misinformation and falsehood" spread by the protesting students.
- She explained that the corps had no authority over the roads and could not have been involved in the hit-and-run incident.
- The Ogun State Police Command also confirmed that the driver of the vehicle that killed the student was not an NYSC official.
- The police arrested the driver, who was later identified as a 33-year-old man, and recovered the vehicle involved in the incident.
- The student's family and the polytechnic management have also been informed of the outcome of the investigation.
- The NYSC reiterated its commitment to the safety and well-being of corps members and the general public.
