Bill Gates said that divorcing Melinda after 27 years of marriage will always be the thing he regrets most in his life. In an interview with The Times of London, he said that although he is happier now, the divorce was miserable for him and Melinda for at least two years and will remain at the top of his list of regrets. "Melinda and I still see each other - we have three children and two grandchildren, so there are family events. The kids are fine. "They have good values," Bill said.

Bill Gates, 69, is currently dating Paula Hurd, 62, the widow of Oracle CEO Mark Hurd. Melinda, 60, has also been dating her new boyfriend, entrepreneur Philip Vaughn. "When Melinda and I met, I had some success, but not ridiculous - that happened during the time we were together. So she helped me a lot. When we got divorced, it was difficult and then she made the decision to leave the foundation. "I was disappointed that she chose to leave," Gates said. Bill and Melinda married in 1994 and have three children, Jennifer, 28, Rory, 25, and Phoebe, 22. They announced their separation in May 2021 and said they had been living apart for a year. Bill had previously admitted to causing her grief when she confronted him about a report that he had had an affair with a Microsoft employee. "Of course, I made mistakes and I take responsibility for them," she replied, adding, "I don't think going into detail at this point is constructive, but yes, I caused pain and I'm sorry for that." ยป
Another factor that contributed to their split was Bill's ties to Jeffrey Epstein. "I didn't like him meeting with Jeffrey Epstein, no. "I made that clear," Melinda said in an interview. "He was disgusting. He was evil personified." Bill called his working relationship with Epstein, who committed suicide in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, a "mistake."
